Since Schelling brothers to our days...

Schelling s.r.l. raising fillet was founded in 1867 by Giovanni and Giorgio Schelling, two brothers who came from Thorgau district (Swizerland). Giovanni was the pioneer, he decided to found its new factory in Baveno, an area carachterized  by the abundance of water and spinners, wich were used in the area since the first half of 1800.

Giovanni Schelling couldn't choose a better area to found its company, which was rich of resources and productive customers, who were staying in a radius of about 10 km. Since the second half of 1800, a lot of factories specialized in the variuos stages of "birth" of the fabric were built and developed. The stages comprehended:

• spinning;
• weaving;
• dyeing;
• printing;
• ennoblement and finishing.
